Effective

Our conformance target

This accessibility statement covers naturesrealitydogservice.com and everything published on it. This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

That is the standard we build and test against, and it is the standard we hold ourselves to when we add anything new. An accessibility statement is only worth reading if it says what was actually tested, so the next section lists it.

We treat accessibility as part of shipping rather than as a review that happens afterwards. Colour contrast is checked at every breakpoint as part of the build, not by eye. Interactive controls are given a minimum target size so they can be operated by someone whose hands are not steady. Every page works with JavaScript unavailable, which matters more than it sounds: it is the same code path that assistive technology and older devices fall back to.

We also know what we have not solved. Automated checks catch a fraction of real barriers, and no test replaces a person using this site with a screen reader on a device we do not own. If you hit something that does not work, telling us is genuinely more useful than any audit we can run ourselves, and we would rather fix it than wait to discover it.

What we have done

This site is built with semantic HTML rather than styled containers, so assistive technology and AI agents both read a meaningful page structure rather than a wall of generic boxes.

  • One H1 per page and no skipped heading levels
  • Every interactive control is a native button, link, label, or details element
  • Full keyboard operation with a visible focus indicator that is never removed
  • Text contrast tested at every breakpoint against the WCAG AA threshold
  • Touch targets of at least 48 by 48 pixels with spacing between them
  • Navigation that works with JavaScript disabled
  • Motion limited to short colour and transform transitions, all disabled under reduced motion
  • No horizontal scrolling at any screen width down to 320 pixels
  • Tables wrapped in a keyboard reachable scroll region rather than overflowing the page
  • A skip link as the first focusable element on every page

Known limitations

Our quote estimator uses native form controls and works without JavaScript, but the live estimate updates only after you press the calculate button when scripting is disabled. The number you get is identical either way.

Some photographs are decorative and carry descriptive alternative text rather than a full scene description.

If something does not work

If any part of this site is difficult for you to use, call us and we will take your request by phone and complete it for you. We would rather fix the barrier than route you around it, so please tell us what happened.
